The planned project financing has alarmed EU officials. The US Eximbank, sponsored trade bank, is lending $800m for the $2.5bn scheme. The transport ministry said it was negotiating with the International Monetary Fund and the European Investment Bank, the EU's infrastructure bank, about raising other finance. But the EIB said it did not finance contracts awarded without public tenders and the IMF said it did not finance projects.

(NYSE: WFC), and BNY Capital Markets, Inc. as Joint Lead Arrangers and Joint Book Managers. Bank of America, N.A. served as Syndication Agent; Wells Fargo, N.A. will serve as Administrative Agent; and The Bank of New York, The Royal Bank of Scotland PLC, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. and Union Bank of California, N.A. served as Co-Documentation Agents.

Investment Solution Strategic The credit facility consists of a five-year $1.3 billion revolver and a five-year $200 million term loan.The new credit facility will replace IGT's existing $260 million credit facility. IGT has accepted incremental commitments, which increases the size of the revolver from $800 million to $1.3 billion. As a result of the new credit facility and after the planned redemption of its 8.375% Senior Notes on July 16, 2004, IGT will have increased liquidity levels by approximately $550 million.

“We’ sized banks go under in the next few months, we’re going to see a whopper, we’re going to see a big one, one of the big investment banks or big banks, ” said Rogoff, who is an economics professor at Harvard University and was the International Monetary Fund’s chief economist from 2001 to 2004.

Bank Investment Thursday at $37.99, down $0.61 or 1.58%, on volume of 4,226,300 shares after hiting a high earlier in the day of $38.46.
