OnCourse to sell subsidiaries to Bombay firm
Milwaukee OnCourse Technologies, a developer of software for manufacturing companies, announced on Tuesday they have signed a term sheet to sell two subsidiaries to Geometric Solutions Software, an India-based firm. Both firms are involved in CAD/CAM technology: TekSoft creates the software for manufacturers, while Cimtronics is a reseller and distributor of related products. The deal is expected to be done within the next 60 days.
Menasha to appeal sales tax ruling on software
Madison, Wis. The packaging and plastics corporation Menasha announced on Tuesday its intent to appeal a ruling that it must pay sales tax on a software package it purchased from the German firm SAP in the 1990s. Because the company modified the software heavily it applied for a tax refund, which is currently estimated at around $500,000 with interest.
Sievewright to help Fiserv expand the markets
Brookfield, Wis. Former CEO of TowerGroup Mark Sievewright has been appointed as senior vice president of business development for the technology services provider Fiserv, the company announced on Tuesday. Sievewright, whose experience also includes the MasterCard division Europay International, was selected for the position to help Fiserv expand into previously untouched markets.
Rockwell teams with Endress for process simplification
Milwaukee Rockwell Automation has announced an agreement with Endress and Hauser, a Swiss supplier of process instrumentation, to find a better way of creating control devices that work with industry standards. The companies plan to extend devices configurability and connectivity, and Rockwell will offer configuration options through its software packages.
