exhibitors on opening day and expects an additional 1,000 before
the show concludes on Wednesday, May 26. Highlighted by

announcements, AD:TECH attracted many of the industry's key
interactive advertising and media players to the Palace Hotel this
week. Today began with a compelling keynote presentation entitled,
"Digital Darwinism," by Peter Weedfald, SVP, Strategic Marketing
and New Media for Samsung Electronics. It was standing room only as
Weedfald touted the Internet as "Darwin on speed" and the most

As part of the event's comprehensive conference program, AD:TECH
delivered a general session focusing on the increasingly splintered
and heterogeneous media environment. John Batelle, Visiting
Professor, UC Berkeley, moderated Monday's "Advertising's Horizon"
session, during which attendees heard from thought-leaders in the
media and investment arenas share thoughts about what will happen
with advertising and marketing in the near future. In addition,
Dynamic Logic presented a custom study that analyzed the
effectiveness of specific site categories and provided insight into
the types of rich media ads that work best on various types of web
sites.
