Oracle Recognized as a Leader in CRM eCommerce Platform Market

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. 17-MAY-2005 Oracle was recently cited as a leader in Commerce Platforms for B2B Sites and a strong performer in Commerce Platforms for B2C Sites by Forrester Research, a leading independent research firm. Oracle was one of only two companies that received leader status for Commerce Platforms for B2B sites in the 2005 Forrester Wave: Commerce Platforms, Q2 2005.
Working from its independent labs and using vendor research, Forrester developed 200 criteria to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of top commerce platform vendors. Using the Forrester Wave methodology, vendors were evaluated based on three overarching categories, including current offering, strategy and market presence.

IDC's report, " Preliminary Results for the Top 5 Vendors Show a Solid Boost (March 2005, 32969), " estimates that Oracle(r) Database grew 14.5 percent year over year and increased its market share lead to 41.3 percent. Overall, the worldwide market for relational database management systems grew by 11.6 percent in 2004. In 2003, Oracle Database posted 8.6 percent growth year over year and was the market share leader with 39.8 percent.
