Movin On Up At Midway

Bank Of America Investment Midway, who lately seems to be well on there way back to respectability, announced today the appointment of three industry leaders who add significant depth to Midway's internal product development capabilities and are expected to be instrumental in next generation game development. They announced that Scot Bayless, former Electronic Arts and Microsoft veteran, will head Midway's Chicago studio. Denise Fulton, former Eidos and Electronic Arts veteran, will head the new Midway Studios-Austin. Stephan Martinire, an award-winning artist and visual designer brings his talents to the position of visual design director at the Chicago studio.

Midway offers much more, even to anglers, than just fishing. It's steeped in history, world telegraph cable, Pacific crossing from San Francisco to Asia (between which it is indeed about midway) via the China Clipper in the 1930s. But more significantly, many historians consider the famous Battle of Midway as the turning point in the Pacific theater during World War II. Decaying relics such as pillboxes still remain here. Midway also has a unique cooperative, recreational, use arrangement with the Midway Phoenix Corporation, which runs facilities for anglers (via Midway Sport Fishing), divers and naturalists interested in the astounding numbers and variety of birds as well as the lagoon's spinner dolphins, sea turtles and endangered, rare Hawaiian monk seals. Part of the profits that Midway Phoenix generates goes to maintaining the refuge.
