GE Medical Systems Introduces AutoBone Software

Bank Of America Investment By WTN News • 11/19/03 WAUKESHA GE Medical Systems today introduced AutoBone, a clinical application that uncovers a vascular "roadmap" by allowing clinicians to remove the bone structure from diagnostic images. Their removal reveals blood vessels that are hidden in traditional imaging views, which optimizes surgical pathways with more precise information to allow for less-invasive clinical procedures and increased diagnostic confidence.

AutoBone software provides automated bone removal imaging from Computed Tomographic Angiography (CTA) studies for the abdomen and lower extremities. "Clinicians have the flexibility to see as much or as little of the transparent bone as they like, and save hours of manual segmentation", said Jennifer Dible, General Manager, Advantage Workstation, GE Medical Systems.

"AutoBone has become an essential tool in our practice for CTA examinations, especially run-off cases," said Jean-Louis Sablayrolles, M.D., Centre Cardiologique du Nord, France. "We use it routinely in conjunction with the AutoSelect feature for Quality Control and Advanced Vessel Analysis software for stenosis measurements."

Prior to joining 3i, founder and COO of Exygy, a business focused on new applications of GPS and wireless technology. Before this, David worked for four years in the $3.5 billion private equity group at GE Asset Management, where he specialized in late stage venture and growth capital opportunities. He also held a position managing investment portfolios for the Bank of Boston and began his career in investment management at State Street Bank, with GE Asset Management as his client. David also has experience as a strategy consultant with both the Parthenon Group and with Citizen's Energy.
