EMC to Expand Focus on Emerging Global Markets with Appointment of Industry Veteran Sanjay Mirchandani

Former Microsoft Executive Brings Nearly Two Decades of International Experience to Newly Created Role

Hopkinton, Mass.-Monday, June 12, 2006 -- EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), the world leader in information management and storage, today announced that Sanjay Mirchandani has joined EMC in the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets and International Development. Mirchandani, an 11-year veteran of Microsoft with substantial experience in developing global markets, will help EMC accelerate its ability to reach customers in emerging markets around the world and advance the companys overall globalization efforts.
Working closely with EMCs global executive team, Mirchandani will focus on developing new approaches for product and go-to-market strategy, localization and global release, and strategies for the company to continue to expand its share of the available market for information management and storage solutions in emerging growth markets. Operational responsibility for driving revenues and day-to-day management of sales and services will remain with EMCs geographic theater leads. Based in Singapore, Mirchandani will report to David Goulden, EMCs Executive Vice President of Customer Operations.
